I am Elana Sabajon (she/her)

As a passionate and experienced therapist, my own journey through challenge and resilience continues to shape how I support individuals and relationships/couples in navigating emotional pain and life’s complexities.

What distinguishes me is the unique blend of professional expertise and my rich tapestry of life experiences.

Having lived across multiple countries, raised children, and navigated significant personal hardships – including my nuclear family being deported and the loss of my co-parent – I have come to understand healing not as a linear path or a destination, but as a lifelong, intricate journey – learning to live with what’s been, while honoring our capacity for engagement, connection, strength, and renewal.

My experiences have deepened my empathy, cultural and systemic awareness, as well as relational wisdom. They also taught me resilience, the value of connection and allyship, and the importance of finding strength in adversity. I have learned the complex ways in which life’s struggles impact our sense of self and relationships.

Grounded in what life has presented and taught me, I offer a collaborative, supportive space where challenges become opportunities for growth, healing, and meaningful transformation. I understand the inherent power dynamics in the therapist-client relationship and strive to create a partnership based on trust, openness, and mutual respect. My endeavour is to help you connect with your inner wisdom, explore the obstacles, and move forward with clarity and intention, empowering you to take an active role in your healing process.

What also might be good to know is that in today’s interconnected and often inequitable world, I hold a humanistic perspective rooted in the belief that basic human rights – food, shelter, education, and healthcare – are essential for true well-being. My approach recognizes that individual healing cannot happen in isolation but is deeply tied to our relationships and the larger social and cultural contexts. I envision a future where compassion, cooperation, and interdependence create opportunities for both personal growth and systemic change.

Looking ahead, I carry within me a deep desire to continue embodying the values of justice, equity, and compassion – not only for my own children and the young people whose lives touch mine, but for those who come after us. My commitment is to show up with authenticity and courage, fostering connection and purpose in a world that often feels disconnected and uncertain. By honoring our shared humanity, I believe we can build a society grounded in kindness, respect, and an unwavering commitment to human dignity.

Thich Nhat Hanh

Death comes
with his impressive scythe
and says,
“You should be afraid of me.”
I look up and ask,
“Why should I be afraid of you?”
“Because I will make you dead.
I will make you nonexistent.”
“How can you make me nonexistent?”

Death does not answer.
He swings his impressive scythe.

I say, “I come and go. Then I come again. And I go again.
I always come back. You can neither make me exist nor nonexist.”
“How do you know that you will come again? Death asks.
“I know, because I have done that countless times,” I say.
“How do I know that you are telling the truth?
Who can be the witness?” Death frowns.

I touch the Earth and say,
“Earth is the witness. She is my mother.”

Suddenly, Death hears the music.
Suddenly, Death hears the bird singing from all directions.
Suddenly, Death sees the trees blossoming.
Earth makes herself apparent to Death
and smiles lovingly to him.
Death melts into the loving gaze of Earth.

O my beloved,
Touch Earth every time you get scared.
Touch her deeply,
and your sorrow will melt away.
Touch her deeply,
and you will touch the Deathless.
